Our pajama day fun afternoon
We read "The Night Before Christmas", had rest time, got some presents (Gingerbread bear books and stuffies), had a special "breakfast" themed snack ("bacon and eggs"), and then went to a fun assembly. We had an awesome day together
"Santa's workshop"
We were busy wrapping our presents and the kids said it was like "Santa's workshop". Their families are going to love these gifts.

A gingerbread man sent us on a scavenger hunt
We had a mysterious visit from the gingerbread man today. He left us clues all around the school.
We were sent to the gym, office, music room, nurse's office, lunchroom and our classroom! We discovered a yummy treat that he left us. It was yummy!
Gingerbread cookies
We had the pleasure of visiting Bertha in the lunchroom to make gingerbread cookies with her. We mixed, measured, rolled and cut. We were lucky because they didn't run away. We will be decorating them soon.

The Dreidel game
Wednesday morning, our class had a special visitor - Mrs. D. joined our class to teach us about Chanukah. Then she taught us how to play the Dreidel game. Unfortunately, Ms. Raymond had a meeting so didn't get to play- but the kids really enjoyed it. Thanks Mrs. D.!

Guest teacher
We had a very special guest teacher today. A third grade student joined us for math and helped with one of our groups. The kids loved having him there as they colored a gingerbread house by number and worked with ten frames. He even got to do some math.
Gingerbread house
Some friends were working hard during choice time on our classroom gingerbread house. It is looking awesome!
The hour of code
This morning, we were able to participate in the national initiative called the hour of code. We used the Lightbot App on iPads to program our own code. Our goal was to get our robot to the end of the trail and make certain squares light up. Everyone did an awesome job and persevered even when they had to try another way. They were so proud of themselves and of course I was very proud of them!

Gingerbread man letters
We received a letter from the gingerbread man today! It was so exciting.
Then we worked together to write a response letter. We had some good ideas how he could outsmart the fox!
We are working at choice time to make him a cardboard gingerbread house. No one will want to eat that one and he will be safe there.
