We've got mail!
As part of I love to read week, we drew illustrations for Ted Scheu's poems Scissors and Soap. We gave them to him when he visited our school. Today, we got mail from him! We were so excited to read our letter. Check it out below...
A guest reader
On Monday, we had a guest reader, Vickie Greenhouse, come to our class to read some stories to us. She read Officer Buckle and Gloria and Bark, George. Then she stamped our passport with a dog stamp. What fun!

I love to read and write week, day 1
Today began I love to read and write week. We kicked it off by having a guest reader, Mr. Jarvis. He read us 2 books and stamped our Read around the world passports.
We had an AWESOME 100th day of school!
Our classroom entryway today.
A class photo with our 100 day props.
We are all 100 days smarter!
We made 100th day crowns.
We made a special 100 day snack and practiced counting by 10's at the same time. We counted out 10 of each treat.
Ms. Raymond gave us "100 cookies" as a special treat!
What can you build with 100 cups? This was a fun choice time activity.
Whew! We had a busy, but really fun, day together!

Puppet making celebration!
We filled our button incentive jar and chose to have a puppet making celebration. Luckily, we have a puppeteer right in our classroom. Mrs. Jarvis brought in supplies for us to make paper plate puppets. We had creative license and got to choose whatever design we wanted. The classroom was quite messy, but we had so much fun!

100 reasons we love our school!
Here is our new bulletin board with "100 Reasons we love our school".
They include our whole class of course and all of the Kindergarten students and teachers. We also included our special teachers, our big partners, our yummy lunches, choice time, recess, math, new books, writing, book orders, our custodians and many more! We could have come up with way more than 100 reasons!

Creating at the Art table
This friend was inspired by the book Groundhog Day by Gail Gibbons and made a drawing of a groundhog and his burrow, complete with chambers.
