Four Winds fun!

Today, Mrs. Brown and Ms. Rebecca came to teach us about white tail deer. We began with a fun puppet show. Then we got to investigate a deer skull, hoof, antlers and fur. We got to weigh 2.5 lbs of twigs to see how much a deer needs to eat in a day. We played a fun game to learn about deer and their environment and what happens if there is not enough twigs (pretzels) for all the deer. We learned a lot!

Reader's Theater

All 3 Kindergarten classes gathered together for some special Reader's Theater performances by Ms. Sutlive's 2nd graders. They did an awesome job. We could tell they have been practicing their reading!

A new math game

I love this game! It is called The Collector. Kids start with 20 counters, and then roll a die to remove counters. They have to say how many they have left. Then, when their board is empty, they roll to refill. So much room to differentiate!

Stripe twins and fancy shoes

We are all wearing stripes - take a picture!

And some fancy shoes...

Even breakfast can be a lever!

This guy decided to use his straw and a banana bread fulcrum to make a lever.

Experimenting with inclined planes

Today in Science, we had the opportunity to experiment with inclined planes. We used cardboard, books, chair and tables to build our ramps. Then we used balls and cars to test them out. Our goal was to get the ball or car into a cup. We changed the height of the plane to see what would happen. We tried on the carpet and smooth floor. We learned a lot and had fun too!

We are readers

There are so many things I love about this photo. Extra bunnies to blur out names.
